My name is Nicoleta Ionescu, I am a 24 years old illustrator and cartoonist from Romania. I mostly draw books for children. I teach “Introduction to Digital Art” at the National University of Bucharest to students learnig about Advertising, Jurnalism and PR. I studied myself Advertising and PR at the same University as well as painting at The National University of Art of Bucharest. I began being interested in cartooning and I try to keep up by participating in world contests and exhibitions. This year i won second prinze on Toonpool,s Election caricature contest with a caricature of Angela Merkel.

Arístides Esteban Hernández Guerrero (ARES.)

Ares was born in Havana, Cuba on September 2, 1963. His education included the study of medicine (Graduated in 1987) and psychiatry (Graduated in 1993). His first cartoon was published in 1984
Ares has made oil paintings and animated films, he currently works in Havana as a freelance artist and illustrator (mainly children’s books). His works have been published around the world.

He has illustrated more than sixty books and has worked in TV and film with some of his works being used to make short animated films (Filminutos).
He has given lectures on the subject of cartoon and comic art in Cuba, Iran, Mexico, Colombia, Turkey, Canada, Spain, Venezuela and Finland and has served as a judge in a number of international cartoon contests in Mexico, Italy, Brazil, Turkey, Cuba, Iran ...
In 1994, Ares was nominated by Witty World Magazine (USA) to be included in the list of the best cartoonists of the world, nominated in Cuba for the Quevedos Iberoamerican Cartoon Award and was included in the Memory Book project as one of the most relevant visual artists of Cuba in the 20th Century. He is included in the survey of the Twenty Most Outstanding Cuban Cartoonists Of The 20th Century.
In 2002, Ares received the National Culture Medal from the Cuban Cultural Minister, is the vice-president of the visual artist association of the Cuban Artists and Writers Union (UNEAC) and vice-president of the Comic and Cartoon cathedra of the Jose Marti International Journalism Institute.

Cival Einstein was born in Fortaleza - Ceará. Self-taught person Member of WORLD TEAM CARTOONISTS DON QUICHOTTE MAGAZINE (Turkey). Cartoons publishes its since 1999.(2005) exhibition in 1 MOSTRA SESC OF HUMOR organized for Luciano Lopes .em 2006 collaborated with the Stop campaign the War of the magazine Mood DON QUICHOTTE, Participated of national competitions and international, caricature projects as exhibition MARI ROMANI, of Rumanian writers, for compartment CARTOONISTS RIGHTS NETWORK ROMANIA, Illustrated paradidáticos books, books of poetry, publication in newspaper O TREM ( itabira - MG Brazil) posters of local humorists and others.

2.Slobodan Srdić - SERBIA

       He was born in 1941. in Virovitica. He lives and works in Smederevo. Occupation is engineer-technologist, close specialty, technology beer, sugar. He has worked in many brewery, and the crown of his professional activities of the realization of the project Brewery beer and "MB". It is "Troubled" pensioner.
        Cartoons dealing with over 40 years. He has published more than 15 000 cartoon in
various newspapers. Illustrated several dozen books, participated in numerous collective and had two individual exhibitions. As I said, festivals and competitions "discovered" relatively late. He received several awards and prizes.

1. Boris Erenburg – ISRAEL

cartoonist and illustrator, was born in 1955 in Leningrad, USSR (Russia).
He Graduated from Cheliabinsk Polytechnic Institute, so his original education was on the field of physics of metals.
Since 1978 Boris became a regular cartoon contributor to the local press and his works started to appear around USSR and abroad. 
He had been preparing for his Doctor of Science thesis, when in 1989 he suddenly quit all his research and accepted a position of Art Editor in the Southern Urals Publishing House.
From 1990 till the repatriation to Israel Boris again transformed into a scientist.
In 1992 he was one of the founders of the Israeli Cartoonists Organization.

He has published thousands cartoons and satirical illustrations in a lot of different places including "Masters of Soviet Cartoon" and his solo-book "The Piece of True".
Meanwhile he took place in a lot of different international exhibitions and won a number of awards.
He illustrates books, writes poetry, deals with practical shooting but mainly tries to internalize the fact that he already is 50+.

1. Oguz Gurel – TURKEY

Oguz Gurel - I was born in in İzmit/Turkey in 1968. Graduated from Marmara University Textile & Art Faculty. I'm drawing cartoons about for 15-16 years. My works first published in a local newspaper 'Kocaeli'in 1989. Also worked for some newspapers+magazines. And have a cartoons album named 'Days with Cartoons' I have been worked as a president in Turkish Cartoonists Association for a year. The organisations which i'm member of are; FECO (Europe cartoonists organisation), Turkish Cartoonists Association I have won more than 100 national and international prizes, some of them are. Still i'm drawing for a daily newspaper, websites and magazines.

2. Derek Easterby – GERMANY

Born in London in 1939. First cartoon published in 1956 and 50 years later he has still got lead in his pencil...
All the years produced and sold Cartoons all over Europe, has appeared in various collections, exhibitions, But has never won a prize.

3. Zlatko Milenković – SERBIA

I was born in 1969 in Novi Sad. I learned how to read thanks to the comic books even before I went to primary school. Because of the desire to be engaged in comic books I started and finished high school for design "Bogdan Šuput“. Since the sadly and boring nineteens people had to live by doing something I worked in Vojvodina bank and waited for the day when I will run away from there that I would be able to do the comics. But I managed to do something, so we work published in some magazines: Alef", "Pisac", "Šajkaške novine", "Sexpress", "Vesti", "Dan", "Ruske slovo", "Stav", "Nezavisni", "ZinFan", "MonopoList", "Reflex", "Bumerang". "Cool strip art anthology" (Macedonia), "Blek" (Island), Jersey Devil (SJRP-USA), Totems (Carton frolics-USA), "Biker Szene" (Germany)... etc.

     I started back in 1999 the first internet weekly STRIP VESTI, which has continuous publishing for nine years. In early 2007, after the number 402 issues that came out in weekly rhythm, STRIP VESTI begun to be Balkan internet news station (each) daily, which, as its subtitle says, brings the news from the world of comics every day on the site www.stripvesti.com ! Besides my desire to be engaged primarily in drawing comics, it can be said that this weekly is my biggest success in the field of comics. As this site is attempt for me to finally and definitively be back to drawing comics. I started and edited fanzin "ZinFan Trips" with the intent to promote the work of Novi Sad "young", and really young authors. It has been published entire four issues of that. An interruption came when I joined the company where I was not the boss related to the big resources of photocopier.So,  ZinFan so suddenly disappeared from the scene.

     But this did not mean anything bad for me, but even more. Since 2001, I finally managed to leave the Bank behind me, and I'm completely in the comics. However, just as the editorial of STRIPOTEKA. There I learned a lot about publishing, sales, and upgrade my knowledge about preparing the comics for printing. In MARKETPRINT I am still employed.

     I started DRUGU EDICIJU  where successfully has been published five comics La Bete Noire (D.Macan-M.Jovanović), as well as one album Stormy & Iceberg (B.Kerac-S.Slavković). Edition is, due to the many other obligations, on the "ice". Which does not mean that there will not be new publishing projects. When once publishing enters into the blood of yours, you can not  never get rid of that completely. Same as comics.

     While I worked at the Bank my album of short comics was published: "SVE JE TO LJUDSKI ALI MOZDA I NIJE" where I collected my, until then released, short comics. Mainly these comics previously published in a weekly letter STAV and the RUSKEM SLOVU. As a self-published edition of the author I published a one volume of comic book "Black & Angela.

     I participated in many collective exhibitions, from the ZLATNA PERA, to those of small, organized by coffee-bars. To make the complete list I should be engaged in digging of the archive of moving boxes (while I was subtenant). Therefore, aou are running out of the list for now.

     The only reward for my comic assigned 1995th by the editorial "LITERARNO SLOVO" (within the weekly RUSKEM SLOVU) for the best art contributions in that year. Also to be succeeding in the regular NIN's  annual list of the most important comic events. Of course, thanks to the STRIP VESTIMA, which are on the list this year took from first to last place, depending on what the competition was in the current year.
