1. PORTRAIT cartoon "ZIKISON", WITHOUT WORDS. How to see the cartoonist, "ZIKISON" and his age, technology-free, for all three categories of works to send the full?

2. Caricature WITHOUT WORDS - FREE, free technique.

3. SHORT ALTERNATIVNA STRIP, WITHOUT WORDS - FREE, free technique.

The competition will be opened  and free for all of the professionals and amateurs, for affirmed and unknown authors from 7 to 77 years of age, for all people on this planet but in the case  if someone appears from other planet then we will become  the first  interplanetar competition.

AWARDS: First prize in all three categories, the presentation of the special page www.zikison.net Weekly electronic journal zikison and www.kiks.site90.net kiks (Caricature and Short Comic Cartoon). All authors whose works jury will be selected in your gallery Zikison.net and KIKS.net. All authors whose works selected for the jury will get ŽIKIŠON Charter or Diploma.

Works can be sent by E-mail zikison@zikison.net & zikison.mazos@gmail.com  & kiks.zikison@yahoo.com with author’s short biography  and  photography.  All of received works will not be returned to the senders. The organization of this project keeps the right for using and publishing of received works for the organization’s needs. Deadline: No deadline (Permanent Exhibition)

ZIKISON (1885. -  1950.) Was a Satirist, a caricaturist, an editor, a publisher, and a printer. Between two wars in Serbia he was an actuator, a Co – Author editor of many of newspaper for humor and satire. He has been suffering and imprisoned by Communist Regime in 1949. Soon after that torture and seizing his property, he was died in 1950.

ŽIKIŠON, je živeo od 1885 . do 1950. Satiričar, karikaturista, urednik, izdavač i štampar. Pokretač je saradnik i urednik više listova za humor i satiru između dva rata u Srbiji. Stradao je i bio zatvoren od komunističkog režima 1949. posle te torture i zaplenjene imovine, ubrzo je 1950. Preminuo.

The book “World Cartoon” has already been published

Dear friends and colleagues,

In 2008, in Azerbaijan, the first International Cartoon Contest under the name “Molla Nasreddin –Azerbaijan 2008” was held by Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union, by the support of Azerbaijan Republic Culture and Tourism Ministry and FECO (Federation of Cartoonists Organisations). Just after the Contest a book-catalogue, including cartoon works of the Contest, was published.

The Book-Catalogue also comprises best cartoons of “My Best Cartoon” Contest and cartoons that won prizes in recent international cartoon contests. Unlike other catalogues, this Book-Catalogue, besides the works of cartoonists from different countries, gives information about the history of cartoon, about past and present day of this genre in each country. Readers can get acquainted with origin and development stages of cartoon genre in different countries, its importance in the society. The book deals with satirical press published in many countries in different periods of history, with the importance of editorial press, with the significance of cartoon genre’s development in the world and with difficulties that cartoonists were and are confronted by.

The book can be accepted as a major step on the road to increasing interest in cartoon genre in our country. It gives information about the history of world cartoon and simultaneously affords an opportunity to get acquainted with the recent cartoon works of contemporary cartoonists and great masters of cartoon genre.

The book (340 pages) is in Azerbaijani and English languages, and it includes 450 cartoon works of different cartoonists from nearly 40 countries. In January 2009, almost 400 cartoonists, who participated in “Molla Nasreddin – Azerbaijan 2008” International Cartoon Contest and whose works are included in the book, have been sent the “World Cartoon” book as present.

As a leader of this project and as an author of the book I want to express my deep gratitude to Azerbaijan Republic Culture and Tourism Ministry and to FECO Board (Federation of Cartoonists Organisations) for their great help and support in our work. I am heartily thankful to all my dear colleagues and friends for their participation in this project.

I am also deeply thankful to FECO President General Ms Marlene Pohle, to FECO Secretary General Mr. Peter Nieuwendijk, to the President of the Euro-Kartoenale

Mr. Rudy Gheysens for their big help in this project. Great thanks to FECO group presidents and members, especially to Ana Von Rebeur (Argentina), Jordan Pop-Iliyev (Macedonia), Drljevic Darko (Montenegro), Effat Ismail Mohammed (Egypt), Huseyin Cakmak (Cyprus), Jean-Marie Bertin (France), Raed Khalil (Syria), Rahim Baggal Asghari (Iran), Rolf Heymann (Australia) and others for their interesting articles about the history of cartooning in their countries. Only by the help of such people we can realize so grandiose projects.

Love of cartooning unites all cartoonists, and together we can organize bigger projects. Our colleague, Russian cartoonist Victor Stepanov writes to me in one of his letters: “Dear friend Bayram, if you have prepared a book about cartooning, we are already relatives with you, because we all are cartoonists. Cartoon is our life”. I think it is very sincere and interesting idea.

In January, there was a presentation of the book “World Cartoon” in “Cartunion” Club. My dear colleagues whose work and personality I respect very much, such as Andrey Feldshteyn (USA), Andrey Rijov (Russia), Boris Erenburg (Israel), Ilya Katz (Israel), Mikhail Zlatkovskiy (Russia), Sergey Fedko (Ukraine), Sergey Sichenko (Israel), Sergey Tunin (Russia), Stanislav Ashmarin (Russia), Vasiliy Aleksandrov (Russia), Victor

Bogorad (Russia) and other great cartoon masters talked very positively about this book, and their opinions were very important for me.

I’d like to thank these great people who highly estimated my work in “Cartunion” Forum. Kind and friendly attitude of these people, who devoted themselves to cartoon genre and who evaluate our work, encourages us. It is worth working and living for such good words.

Great Russian cartoonist Stanislav Ashmarin whose 70 year anniversary was recently celebrated, writes in one of his letters: “In one of the poems of R.Kipling it is said: “West is West, East is East, and they will never go together”. But after I saw B.Hajizadeh’s book, I can say that this idea is anachronism”. I want to thank Mr. Ashmarin for this high estimation of my work. Today, in our difficult time, if we - cartoonists can create a bridge of friendship between peoples and cultures with our art and work, it is a triumph of all of us. If people with different outlook, with different views and cultures can work together in international contests, exhibitions or forums and they can freely discuss different problems, it is the beginning of the great event.

Atila Ozer (Turkey), Ahmet Aykanat (Turkey), Huseyin Cakmak (Cyprus), Musa Gumush (Turkey), Raed Khalil (Syria), Rahim Baggal (Iran), Shahram Rezaei (Iran), Yurdagun Goker (Turkey) and other dear friends and colleagues expressed their valuable opinions about the book “World Cartoon” and pointed out the significance of the book in strengthening of the friendship between countries.

My dear friends and colleagues Leng Mu from China, Ana Von Rebeur from Argentina, Tavis Bettoli Lotten from the USA, Ferreol Murilyo Fuentes from Costa Rica, Julio Angel Karrion Kueva from Peru, Gennadiy Kostovetskiy from Israel, Talal Nayer from Sudan, Tatyana Tsankova from Bulgaria, Zoran Matic from Serbia, Vladimir Kazanevskiy from the Ukraine, Aydarbek Gazizov from Kazakhstan and others put a lot of work into preparation of this book. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to these people.

A well-known cartoonist and a generous person Mr. Alexander Matis writes to me in his letter: “I received your book. My granddaughter asked me where the book was from. I answered that it was from brotherly Azerbaijan”. I want to thank my dear colleague for this answer, and I want to assure all of you that it is true. This book is a little gift from brotherly Azerbaijan for all cartoonists and for all cartoon-lovers.

Here, in brotherly Azerbaijan, there are a lot of people who love you and want to communicate with you in spite of different languages, different religions and who love and support cartoon art which is an indicator of the democratic society.

I’d like to conclude my writing by the words of Mr. Andrey Feldshteyn, my dear colleague and the founder of “Cartunion” Club: “We must support every step taken on the road of the development of cartoon genre. Unfortunately, forces on the opposite side are stronger”.

The same idea is written by my dear friend Huseyin Cakmak who does his best in the development of cartoon art: “In our contemporary life, when cartoonists of the world don’t appreciate and don’t respect one another, don’t care about equality and solidarity and when personal interest became more important, I felt a pity and depression in my life. But your book “World Cartoon” encouraged me to live full life again”.
